Liverpool surge on Instagram as Man Utd hammer away on Facebook

November 25 – The growth of new Instagram followers to Premier League clubs in the week to November 20 has remained steady with another 276,000 plus sign-ons matching the previous week. What is emerging is a pattern of the biggest clubs putting on huge numbers of followers, in contrast to the 12 lowest ranked clubs adding less than 2,000 followers each.

Liverpool had, comparatively, the best week, almost doubling their increase in new followers to 56,000 from the previous week’s 26,500. Man Utd were not as strong this week – though still topped the table with a 78,300 increase, but down from last week’s increase of 101,200.

Chelsea also had a stronger this week with an increase of 42,900 against 40,000 the previous week.

Overall Premier League clubs has a strong week on Facebook with a total increase of likes from 246,000 last week to a massive 301,700 this week.

Arsenal more than doubled it’s increase to 44,600 this week from last week’s increase of 22,000, Similarly Chelsea continued their social media resurgence, almost doubling likes from 21,800 increase to 41,600 this week.

Man Utd had another massive increase of 94,900 this week, up on 59,200 last week –  contrasting with slightly less impact on Instagram

Man City perfumed less well: with increase numbers down to 32,700 from 55,000 – matching a similar trend for the club on Instagram.
