Hull turn up the tweet volume, Man City break the 4m mark, Man Utd just keep on rolling

February 7 – The Hull City resurgence is in full flow and they are talking it up. The club were the most active tweeters this week with 435 tweets, producing the second largest percentage growth of the week at 1.25%.

Chelsea, not surprisingly, were the second most active with 419 tweets while Burnley had the largest percentage growth at 1.28%

In fact, overall the Premier League club’s social media departments had a busy week with 5,527 tweets compared to 3,929 last week.

Growth in new followers was again led by Manchester United with 75,600 – well down on the bumper 95,000 of the week before. Arsenal were in second place with 68,500.

Liverpool, perhaps surprisingly as they hit a run of poor on-pitch form, again beat the form side of the Premier League, Chelsea. The difference in new followers was 4,000.

Manchester City broke the 4 million follower barrier, but with 20,900 for the week gained less than half the new followers that Chelsea gained.

Ten clubs gained 5,000 or less followers with Bournemouth propping up the table with just 1,600 new followers.
