Honduras to host 8-team CONCACAF Futsal Club Championships

July 20 – Honduras will host the second CONCACAF Futsal Club Championship this August 21-26.

The eight team invitational club tournament will be played at the Universidad Pedagógica Nacional Francisco Morazán in Tegucigalpa, Honduras. Two groups of four will qualify goru teams for the semi-finals.

The first regional club Futsal championship was hosted in Guatemala in 2014 with soix teams competing. Local club Glucosoral won the title, beating Costa Rica’s Borussia in the final.

Neither team will be present in Honduras in August but Mexico’s Sidekicks and Cuba’s Habana will be making their second appearances.

Sub regional representation is split with three teams coming from North America, three from central America and two from the Caribbean.

The other teams heading for Honduras are Sporting Outlaws FC (Canada), Elite Futsal (USA), Grupo Line Futsal (Costa Rica), Soyapango FC (El Salvador), Universidad Pedagogica Nacional (Honduras), and FAX Futsal (Guadeloupe).
