July 27 – The French Professional Football League (LFP) has renewed partnership with BeIN Sports, Orange and Webedia for its e-Ligue 1 for a further two years. Title sponsor Orange will continue in its role until the end of the 2018/19 season.
The LFP’s e-Ligue 1 sees teams of two professional players, sponsored by clubs, compete for the Ligue 1 title on EA Sports’ FIFA video game platform.
“Esports is at the heart of our partnership strategy,” said sponsorship and events manager at Orange Stéphane Tardivel, “Continuing the adventure of the Orange e-league 1 seemed to us a no-brainer.”
beIN Sports and Webedia confirm their position as major players in the promotion and distribution of the esport. Broadcast every Monday night on beIN SPORTS, a dedicated magazine has united a large gaming community around featured commentators Bruce Grannec and Brak.
“We are pleased to renew our agreement with the LFP and Webedia on the broadcast of this eSports championship and will again propose an exceptional device with the best experts of the discipline,” said beIN Sports producer Florent Houzot.
Olivier Jaubert, director of marketing and sales of the LFP, focussed on the growth of the league, saying: “We are very pleased to continue the development of a new competition with Orange.
The new season of e-Ligue 1 will begin at the end of October 2017, a few weeks after the release of the FIFA 18 game.
