August 9 – On the eve of the first round of the 24th edition of the French League Cup, the Professional Football League has announced DIY superstore Bricomarché as the official supplier of the competition for this season.
Bricomarché offers decorating, DIY, materials, gardening and pet products lines, with 480 stores in France. As part of the deal Bricomarché will have visibility around the field (LED, fixed panels) and on stadium screens and tickets.
Olivier Jaubert, LFP Marketing and Sales Director said: “We are very pleased to welcome Bricomarché to the Professional Football League partners for this 24th edition of the Coupe de la Ligue. This new collaboration shows the attractiveness of the competition, which is constantly seeking innovation. We look forward to working together to make this partnership happen and we are confident that this partnership will benefit both parties. ”
Thierry Coulomb, chairman of the Board of Directors of Bricomarché and Brico Cash said: “Popular sport par excellence, football perfectly illustrates the values of proximity and commitment that drive us every day. This partnership with the Professional Football League is a way to show that we are present every day with our teams on the pitch to offer the best. ”
The deal follows an agreement earlier this month which saw Tag Heuer becoming French soccer league’s official timekeeper for all competitions organised by the LFP. The deal increases Tag Heuer’s stable of leading European leagues which already includes the Premier League, the Bundesliga in Germany and Spain’s La Liga.
In this last week, the Swiss watchmaker also announced the USA’s Tim Howard as a new brand ambassador with Kilian Muller, President of TAG Heuer North America, lauding the USMNT keeper saying: “He performs his best when under pressure and in doing so embodies the #Don’tCrackUnderPressure spirit of TAG Heuer.”
