March 13 The German Football Association (DFB) has appointed Burson-Marsteller Sport to advise on international strategy and communication for its bid to host the 2024 European Championships.

The agency recently rebranded the TSE Consultancy firm under the Burson-Marsteller Sport banner, itself owned by the global WPP advertising agency.

Last week UEFA announced that Germany is up against Turkey as the only two bidders for the EURO 2024 hosting rights. Bid dossiers have to be submitted by April 27 with UEFA making the decision on hosting on September 24.

Germany has previously hosted the 1988 Euros as well as the 1974 and 2006 World Cups.

We want to make sure that we have the right expertise and skills to complement our work, and with Burson-Marsteller Sport we now have a full team that is ready to unite European football.”
