April 2 – Manchester United are returning to the US for their pre-season tour for the second consecutive year. Their two-week tour, presented by sponsor AON, will include matches against Mexico’s Club America and MLS side San Jose Earthquakes.
The club are also expected to play in the International Champions Cup with a match against Liverpool reportedly being scheduled though full dates and fixtures are still to be announced. One suggested venue has been the Big House in Ann Arbor, Michigan, which has a capacity of 107,000.
Man Utd will play Club America in the Phoenix University Stadium, Arizona, on July 19, and the San Jose Earthquakes at the Levi’s Stadium, Santa Clara, on July 22.
Manchester United Executive Vice Chairman, Ed Woodward, said: “The tour is a central part of the team’s preparation for a long and intense campaign and this is the second consecutive year that we will travel to the US. The training facilities are world class and the games will be played in front of passionate crowds, making it an ideal environment for the players to gear up for the new season.
All games of Tour 2018, presented by Aon, will be broadcast live on MUTV.
