UEFA goes to market with Official Match Ball and Lifestyle rights for women’s comps

April 27 – UEFA, which has recently unbundled its women’s competition rights from its men’s competitions, has issued a tender for the supply of the Official Match Ball and Lifestyle Partner for the 2018-21 cycle of women’s competitions.

The package of rights will cover:

  • UEFA European Women’s Championship 2021
  • UEFA Women’s Champions League Final 2019-2021
  • UEFA European Women’s Under-17 Championship 2019-2021
  • UEFA European Women’s Under-19 Championship 2019-2021
  • UEFA Women’s Futsal Championship 2019 and 2021

The Official Lifestyle Partner of UEFA Women’s Football also includes the Together #WePlayStrong global marketing platform. London-based sponsorship agency TRM Partners is handling the global rights sales for these categories and events. Expressions of interest need to be filed before May 7.

UEFA unbundling its women’s rights from its men’s competitions, and then packaged them into their own offering for the first time earlier this year. TRM was appointed to focus solely on women’s football sponsorship with a view to creating new commercial opportunities that will support the growth and development of women’s competitions.

UEFA’s Together #WePlayStrong campaign, to get more girls and women playing football, is a growing and powerful movement for the women’s game and a rallying cry for the sponsorship.
