May 16 – Premier League Tottenham Hotspur have extended their partnership with bookmakers William Hill in what the club says is a multi-year deal.
William Hill first partnered with Spurs at the start of the 2016-17 season as the Club’s Official Betting Partner for Europe. Last season saw the club fall short of Champions League glory, surprisingly being knocked out in the last 16 by Juventus and ending the season trophy-less again.
Spurs did qualify for the Champions League by finishing third in the Premier League and, offering some form of solace to some fans, finishing as the top club in London. Next season Spurs will return to their rebuilt stadium on the site of the old White Hart Lane ground.
William Hill, who are a London-based bookie and have a championed a marketing and community commitment through their ‘Close to HOME’ campaign, will be retunring with them.
No figure was given for the value of the multi-year deal for the club, but William Hill over the past two years have provided a six-figure grant to fund the Tottenham Hotspur Elevator Programme, which has since helped young people in Haringey find employment.
William Hill’s club sponsorship will give it a presence across the club’s digital channels and LED perimeter advertising boards. Fans will be able to place bets on the William Hill App and mobile betting site via the new stadium’s high density WiFi.
Fran Jones, Head of Partnerships, Tottenham Hotspur, said: “This new agreement reinforces William Hill’s commitment to the Club and the borough of Haringey and we look forward to continuing our partnership as we approach our move back to Tottenham and our new stadium.”
