Man Utd add Bayern to pre-season that includes AC Milan, Liverpool and Real Madrid

June 12 – Manchester United are turning pre-season team-building into a money making art form, confirming they will play Bayern Munich as the sixth and final match of the team’s pre-season preparations for the 2018-19 campaign. Man Utd will also face AC Milan, Liverpool and Real Madrid in the US in July.

It is a pre-season campaign that looks more like a Champions League schedule in terms of opposition.

Man Utd will play five games in the US, with the three against European opposition as part of the International Champions Cup that has now become a regular pre-season appointment for the big European clubs.

Man United will face Bayern Munich in on Sunday 5 in Munich, the last game before they open their Premier League campaign.

Manchester United’s executive vice chairman, Ed Woodward, said: “The team are facing some of the world’s toughest opponents over the course of pre-season, in top class stadiums which will allow a significant number of our supporters to get closer to the team they love. The competitive feel throughout the summer programme will provide a great platform for the squad.”
