Bitcademy brings blockchain to funding of player development and player trading platform

September 7 – In what may be a world first, a blockchain start-up is working to help develop new and untapped football talent from under-developed countries through an AI-based digital marketplace.

Bitcademy have announced their plans to foster the development of young talent from countries that may not have the access to the right coaches, training facilities, talent management and education and, consequently, not get the opportunities to progress in the world game.

In effect, Bitcademy are aiming to bring a gaming element into the scouting process to allow investors to buy and trade academy players through an AI-based digital marketplace creating a real-life version of ‘Fantasy Football’.

The project would include an online market place which would allow investors to fund their chosen players’ development, coupled with a state-of-the-art training facility for their players to train at.

Anyone who wishes to invest in the project can select players from any of the FIFA Confederations and utilise the skill measurement tools on the site, as well as their own intuition and knowledge of the game.

In addition, Bitcademy aims to stimulate local economies in underdeveloped countries by building bricks and mortar football academies providing educational facilities that will be open to members of the community.

Bitcademy is Polish-based blockchain startup and is planning on holding its ICO (Initial Coin Offering) in Q4 2018, and has boldly set its sights on disrupting talent acquisition in the most popular sport in the world.

Tomasz Krzystek, the founder of Bitcademy, has long seen the value of how technology can change people’s lives: “I really see blockchain playing a big role in the disruption of social impact projects. We are focussing on football academies, bringing opportunities to people in the most disadvantaged places on the planet, but that is not the only thing which blockchain will be able to achieve. We see the huge potential for blockchain to radically alter the aid industry and the NGO sector. Transparency and new economic models are going to have a transformative effect on the benefit of millions. It is crazy to think that this has not been implemented yet and we want to be one of the first.”
