September 10 – Danish international Nicklas Bendtner has been reported to police by a Copenhagen taxi driver who claims he was behind a violent attack on Sunday morning and had to undergo surgery for a broken jaw.
Danish newspaper Ekstra Bladet cited unnamed sources saying Bendtner was arrested but other reports suggest the former Arsenal forward, who plays for Rosenborg in Norway, was not charged.
A spokesman for Copenhagen police said there had been a number of reported cases during the night involving violence against taxi drivers, but declined to comment on individual cases. Rosenborg also declined comment as did the Danish Football Association which has enough on its plate with a divisive ongoing pay dispute.
Bendtner, 30, was not picked for the Danish national team that beat Wales yesterday in Aarhus but after signing for Rosenborg has started to rediscover his best form, winning the Norwegian title in 2017.
