July 29 – Leading Indian beer brand Kingfisher has made its first foray into Premier League football becoming the Official Beer partner of Southampton in what is described as a “multi-year” deal.
Kingfisher will provide the matchday beer at St Mary’s Stadium and will also launch a special Southampton FC signature ale, which will be available on draught at all home games including in the new Fan Zone outside the stadium, the Gasworks Bar & Grill, as well as the club’s hospitality suites and boxes.
Southampton commercial director, David Thomas, said: “We are delighted to be welcoming Kingfisher into our valued family of commercial partners, and are looking forward to providing our supporters at St Mary’s with the offering of their range of high-quality, leading beers…
“Kingfisher is a world-renowned brand, and we are excited about being able to help them further grow their reputation both here and around the world, as well as working with them to provide a new gateway for the Southampton name in India.
Through a number of initiatives, Southampton and Kingfisher will be take the Premier League to India through a range of content and a selection of unique experiences.
Kingfisher is one of India’s most recognisable brands with a brewing history that goes back to 1857.
