Korean court awards money to two fans who went to see Ronaldo play, not Juventus

February 4 – Two South Korean fans who sued match organisers after Cristiano Ronaldo failed to play in a friendly during Juventus’s pre-season tour last year are entitled to compensation, a court has ruled .

Ronaldo stayed on the bench during the friendly in Seoul despite being contracted to appear.

The Portuguese superstar had been expected to play at least 45 minutes against K-League All Stars, according to event organisers The Fasta Inc, but sat out the entire game before a sell-out 65,000 crowd.

A district court in Incheon, west of Seoul, has now ordered The Fasta Inc, to pay 371,000 won (£240.2) to both fans listed in the lawsuit which had  complained that the company had publicised the Portuguese star would play half the fixture.
