February 21 – Sports News Television, SNTV, have struck a deal to manage the J League’s new international YouTube channel.
SNTV, a joint-venture between the Associated Press and IMG, will run a content programme for the Japanese top-flight league with video stories, match highlights, player profiles, reaction, archive features, and a slate of news features.
The video sports news agency will also distribute their J League content across their network of broadcast and digital media outlets to help the league grow an international audience.
“The J League is recognised as one of the most successful and competitive leagues in Asia and we are excited to extend our relationship with them,” said SNTV’s managing director, James Dobbs. “The launch of the international YouTube channel and SNTV’s overall content offering will take viewers closer to the action and give a real insight into the clubs and players in Japan.”
The YouTube channel comes on the back of SNTV’s ongoing three-year partnership with the J League.
On February 21, the new Japanese season kicks off and the league will run through until November. Yokohama Marinos are the defending champions.
