March 25 – Borussia Dortmund and England’s Jadon Sancho has a transfer value of close to €200 million, according to a ranking of Big 5 league players born in or after 2000.
The ranking, by the CIES Football Observatory, places Dortmund’s Norwegian striker Erling Håland at second place in the list of Big-5 league players, valued at €101 million.
The CIES researchers say that the value of Håland is destined to grow while the value of Sancho is likely to have peaked.
England is the most represented nation in the top 10 with Jadon Sancho, Callum Hudson-Odoi (5th, €72 million), Mason Greenwood (8th, €50 million) and Phil Foden (9th, also €50 million).
They also point to two Brazilians who will likely see value increases. “Real Madrid’s attacking duo Rodrygo and Vinicus have the third and fourth highest estimated values: €89 million and €74 million respectively. Both Brazilians also have a high potential for progression.”
“With an estimated value of €53 million, the French midfielder Eduardo Camavinga (Stade Rennais) is the youngest player in the top 10. Another footballer born in 2002, Ansu Fati (FC Barcelona) is worth more than €40 million,” says the report.
