September 8 – AC Milan, which has renewed focus on creating regional sponsorships, has signed a three-year deal with casino and sportsbook operator Yabo Sports as an official regional partner across Asia.
Yabo Sports will have a spot in AC Milan’s virtual fan village as part of the club’s Digital Summer Tour – a project aimed at increasing engagement opportunities with Chinese fans.
AC Milan chief revenue officer Casper Stylsvig said: “We are delighted to partner with Yabo Sports, who will undoubtedly help us to grow our brand and connect with our millions of Rossoneri fans across the Asian region. Delivering high performance, localised partnerships that focus on shared business objectives is a fundamental aspect of our partnership strategy.”
Yabo will work with the club on a number of localised marketing activations.
David Lee, Chief Marketing Officer of Yabo Sports, stated: “We are very excited to join hands with AC Milan, a club with the second largest fan base in China. For the next three years, we very much look forward to working closely with AC Milan to deliver incredibly creative sports entertainment experiences for our fans in Asia and beyond.”
No value was given for the deal. Serie A clubs are currently battling regulators over a ban on sport betting sponsorship and advertising in their domestic market.
