October 15 – Al Hilal begin the defence of their Saudi Pro League title this week behind closed doors, just a month after having taken the 2019-20 championship.
While the 2019-20 season, which saw 690 goals scored, was completed behind closed doors the league points to it, in social media terms, it was the most successful on record.
“Off the pitch social channels grew by an average of 34%. The #OurLeague campaigns included over 8 million impressions generated by club and media collaboration and over 185 published posts across Twitter, Instagram, Facebook and YouTube,” said the league.
The #OurLeague campaign is being carried forward into the new season and will be showcased throughout stadiums as fans shared their support online and participate in polls and quizzes. The league will also be providing more videos and digital downloads through its social channels.
