November 12 – Veteran Croatia captain Domagoj Vida played the first half of Wednesday’s 3-3 draw with Turkey in Istanbul before finding out he had tested positive for Covid-19.
The 31-year-old centre-back was already scheduled to be substituted when the Croatia medical team got the results at half-time of the friendly.
All Croatian players and staff had tested negative on Monday, but further tests on Wednesday morning found Vida to be positive.
A Croatian FA statement said Vida would now have to self-isolate in Turkey while the rest of the squad travels to Sweden for a Nations League match on Saturday.
