AFC plants a seed in eastern Europe with Sportklub broadcast deal deal

December 8 – The AFC has taken a significant step into eastern Europe’s broadcast market with United Media picking up the rights for Southeast Europe to the Asian confederation’s major national and club competitions.

United Media will be the AFC’s new media partner in Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Montenegro, Albania, Kosovo, Macedonia, Bulgaria and Slovenia from 2021 to 2024.

The exclusive deal includes the AFC Asian Qualifiers – Road to Qatar, the AFC Champions League and the AFC Cup from the 2021 season, the AFC Asian Cup China 2023 and the AFC U23 Asian Cup Finals 2022 and 2024.

United Media Sàrl, part of the United Media Group, has a network of more than 30 channels available for terrestrial, cable, DTH, OTT and IPTV platforms. It is the first time AFC competitions will have been available Southeast Europe and will include broadcast on the Sportklub channels.
