February 22 – With two weeks to go to the Web Summit on Female Leadership in Sport, SIGA has released details of the programme content and speakers.
The event, which is part of the #SIGAWomen Mentorship Programme, is designed to drive greater equality and opportunities for women in sport.
Consisting of 12 live webinars together with keynote speeches from high profile industry leaders, the summit will address some of the most pressing challenges that impact women in the sports business, including addressing parity in the boardroom.
That panel will be led by Katie Simmonds, SIGA’s Global COO who will be talking with Lisa Baird, Commissioner of the National Women’s Soccer League in the US, and Karin Korb, Task Force on Race, Gender, Diversity and Inclusion in Sport.
The summit will be opened with addresses by Mariya Gabriel, European Commissioner, Innovation, Research, Culture, Education, Youth and Sport, Tatiana Valovaya, Director General, United Nations Office at Geneva – UNOG, and Diana Bracco, Vice President, B20 & President, The Bracco Group.
Other panels include Katie Sadleir,World RugbyGeneral Manager for Women’s Rugby and Sarai Bareman, Chief Women’s Football Officer, FIFA, discussing ‘What needs to be done by Sports Organisations to promote Women in Sport
Annette Knott, Secretary General, Trinidad and Tobago National Olympic Committee Women in Sport Commission,Dr. Debbie Alexander, Board Member (World Triathlon Executive), and Michelle Chai, Chief Operating Officer, Olympic Council of Malaysia, will head a panel titles #SIGA women: The power of mentorship.
