July 28 – AS Roma have teamed up with Zytara Labs, a leading blockchain enterprise, who will become the club’s main global partner in a three-year deal.
The agreement with Zytara is worth €36 million over the course of the partnership.
As part of the agreement, the DigitalBits logo will feature on the front of the club’s home, away and alternate shirts for the AS Roma’s men’s, women’s and youth teams.
The DigitalBits logo will replace Qatar Airways as the club’s short sponsor.
”We could not be more excited to have AS Roma officially join the DigitalBits ecosystem,” said Guido Fienga, AS Roma’s CEO.
“DigitalBits is a blockchain known for its speed, efficiency, and sustainability: traits that mirror the values of our club and will allow us to deepen the engagement with our fans worldwide in numerous ways.”
The DigitalBits blockchain will be used within the club with the fans able to buy club shirts using the CDB cryptocurrency. Other marketing will see 25 commemorative rings to mark the sponsorship go on sale with the proceeds going to the club’s charitable foundation.
