Saints go large with £2.5m on St Mary’s stadium improvements

August 1 – Premier League Southampton Football Club have unveiled £2.5million investment of planned improvements to their St Mary’s Stadium coinciding with the 20-year anniversary of theior cross city move to St Mary’s.

Among the improvements includes the installation of new jumbo-sized big screens that are double the size of the existing screens and will be installed during the October international break. The big screens will link to screens on the concourses, pitch-side boards, floodlights, kiosks and to the official club app.

The club is also bringing in new, larger TV screens on the concourse and two video walls in the Kingsland and Itchen stands that will show action from around the Premier League before and after each Saints game.

Within the ground food and beverage kiosks will have new point of sale technology and an increase in till points by over 20% to help reduce queue times. Fans will also have a new locally sourced food and drink menu within the concourse, which for the first time will also include craft beers.

New signage and banners will be installed outside the stadium with updated artwork, whilst inside, a new Captains Wall will be installed in Main Reception recognising those who have captained the club all the way back to 1885.

The hospitality lounges will also see improvements across the stadium, along with the introduction of the Halo Lounge bringing an exclusive and prestigious top-floor pitch view offering to those who the club says are “looking to experience one of the best dining experiences on the south coast.”
