August 10 – Wolfsburg and Chinese battery manufacturer BAK Battery have teamed up in a bid to develop a more climate-friendly club policy over the next few years.
The high-tech company, founded in Shenzhen in 2005, operates in the business of 3C batteries, rechargeable batteries and battery recycling.
“With BAK there is another partner at VfL’s side who shares our visions and values and wants to break new ground with us,” said Wolfsburg managing director Michael Meeske.
“As an innovation-driven company, BAK Battery invests considerable resources in research into renewable energies. This striving for progress in the area of the environment and climate fits perfectly with our ecological orientation and the goal of reducing our emissions to net zero by 2025.”
The manufacturer will join the German club as a premium partner, but the terms of the deal were not disclosed.
“This partnership is a combination of sport, green thinking and the coexistence of strength and energy,” said BAK Battery deputy CEO Wang Tan. “I am convinced that our company will sense and absorb the enthusiasm and spirit of the club. BAK is ready to work with the wolves to change the world through the use of clean energy and I hope we can create unlimited possibilities in the future”
