Gedesco takes vacant Levante shirt deal as betting sponsorship ban bites

August 24 – LaLiga’s Levante have filled their vacant shirt sponsorship with a one-season deal with locally-based finance company Gedesco.

Gedesco’s logo will be present on all game kits, first team training kits, as well as on the club’s youth teams. Gedesco will also have branding presence in the club’s stadium. No value was given for the sponsorship.

“This is a sponsor that was founded and that is based in Valencia and is to be appreciated”, he said Levante’s Quico Catalan. “That Gedesco has understood the Levante project is cause for satisfaction.”

Spanish clubs have faced the loss of gambling company shirt sponsors this season under the new the ‘Garzón law’ that prohibits their promotion. Gedesco replace Betway who were previously Levante’s sponsor.

LaLiga kicked off with six clubs without principal shirt sponsors.

Gedesco’s logo debuted on levante’s short at the weekend in the 3-3 draw with Real Madrid.

“For us it is a pride, we are a Valencian company and it will be a good relationship for the future,” said Javier Garcia Escrivá, founding partner of Gedesco.
