AFC signs PhinDeli to Vietnamese regional deal for Qatar 2022 qualifiers

September 2 – With the Asian World Cup Qualifiers about to start their final group stage, the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) has signed their first regional sponsorship with PhinDeli for Vietnam.

A leading instant coffee brand in Vietnam, PhinDeli has signed on for the AFC Asian Qualifiers – Road to Qatar from 2021 to 2022.

Vietnam open their final group round qualifier against Saudi Arabia tomorrow (September 3) before hosting Australia at home September 7. It is the first time the Vietnamese have made it through to the final round of World Cup qualifying.

PhinDeli will activate their sponsorship via a digital content campaign and prominent in-venue brand exposure on LED boards and virtual signage at Vietnam national team.

AFC General Secretary, Windsor John, said: “From their historic qualification to the Quarter-finals of the AFC Asian Cup in 2019 to securing their first-ever spot in the final round of the AFC Asian Qualifiers, few nations have enjoyed such an impressive rise on the Continental stage in recent years than Vietnam.

“We are grateful to PhinDeli for underlining their faith in the AFC and we are confident that this partnership will provide an excellent opportunity and platform for both the AFC and PhinDeli to engage with more fans and consumers than ever before.”

PhinDeli is riding the wave of national pride and support for a rapidly improving Vietnamese team within Asian competition.

Ton That De, CEO of Nova Consumer Group, sad: “We are very proud of the Vietnamese national team’s unprecedented success in qualifying for the final round of the AFC Asian Qualifiers. Football ignites national pride and helps connect millions of passionate supporters like no other sport…

“As a coffee brand who believes in and promotes authentic connections among people, we are looking forward to inspire communities to continue their support and to fuel their excitement for a historic World Cup qualification campaign.”
