September 14 – City Football Group (CFG) clubs Manchester City and New York City FC have signed a new partnership with office space provider WeWork.
WeWork will become Manchester City’s Official Workplace Partner, and an Official Partner of New York City FC. No value or term was given for the deal.
WeWork will provide UK and Singapore employees with access to collaborative workspace, whenever they need it, as well as access to WeWork locations across the world. Employees of NYCFC will be given WeWork All Access passes, enabling them to work from any of WeWork’s locations in the city and worldwide.
Stephan Cieplik, Senior Vice President of Global Partnerships Sales, City Football Group, said: “As part of an organisation operating globally, it is important we provide access to high-quality, flexible facilities for our staff to help us harness innovation, collaboration and drive success.
“The team at WeWork has impressed us with their commitment to our shared values, solutions and facilities and we look forward to working with them throughout the partnership.”
WeWork was founded in 2010 “with the vision to create environments where people and companies come together and do their best work,” said a Man City press release. WeWork first opened in New York City, and has grown via delivery of technology-driven flexible office solutions, both for freelancers and for larger companies.
Roger Solé, Chief Marketing Officer, WeWork said: “Our goal at WeWork is to inspire and enable teams to work together in more flexible and collaborative ways through our intentionally designed spaces in top markets around the world. It is great to see the two Clubs recognise how WeWork can provide the right workspace to foster their innovative culture and we look forward to seeing their teams thrive as part of the WeWork community.”
