LaLiga beefs up sponsorship roster with 3-year Burger King deal

September 16 – La Liga and Burger King have struck a deal with the fast-food brand attaching its name to Spain’s top flight for three seasons.

Beef and football go hand-in-hand and with the new deal the two parties want to offer just that – the best matches and the best hamburgers. The partnership will include special activations with both parties targeting new audiences.

“With this new agreement, LaLiga continues its line of partnering with the most important companies globally, something that helps us bring the world of football closer to new sectors and, in this way, also reach new audiences,” said La Liga president Javier Tebas in a statement. “LaLiga is not just football, and Burger King is not just food.”

The value of the sponsorship was not disclosed.

“Football is the people and everyone enjoys it in their own way,” said general director of Burger King Jorge Carvalho. “As a brand we defend a philosophy, a way of life that we summarize in our slogan, Have It Your Way.”
