More Man Utd misery: Pogba could miss rest of 2021 after injury in French training

November 10 – Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba could miss the remainder of 2021 after injuring his thigh on duty with France, ruling him out of the upcoming World Cup qualifiers against Kazakhstan and Finland.

Initial reports from the French camp suggest Pogba will be out for between six and eight weeks – interesting timing given that at the end of the year he can sign pre-contract terms with overseas clubs, with his current deal running out in June.

Pogba missed United’s last two Premier League matches through suspension but would have been expected to return later this month.

Uncertainty over Pogba’s Old Trafford future has been overshadowed in recent weeks by the pressure mounting on manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer who is already without Pogba’s international team-mate Raphael Varane.

Speculation is rife that after an inconsistent start to the season, the Norwegian will be replaced by Leicester City’s Brendan Rodgers in the coming days or weeks.
