Man City’s Mendy has another rape case added to his charges

December 23 – Manchester City’s £50 million defender Benjamin Mendy has been charged with a fresh rape count on top of the six he is already facing.

Mendy is now accused of seven counts of rape and one of sexual assault against five women aged over 16.

The fresh offence relates to a new complainant and is alleged to have taken place in July this year.

The France international has been in custody since his arrest on August 26. A provisional trial date was moved from January to either June 27 or August 1 next year.

Mendy joined City from Monaco in 2017 and last played for the club on August 15 during their 1-0 defeat to Tottenham at the start of this season.
