March 2 – The United Arab Emirates, which stepped up at the last minute to host FIFA’s Club World Cup last month, has been named by the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) as the neutral venue for last round of Qatar 2022 qualifying.
China and Syria will both play their home fixtures there, both countries are out of contention for places at Qatar 2022.
China will face Group B leaders and already qualified Saudi Arabia at the Sharjah Stadium – Saudi need just a point to qualify as group winners.
Syria will host Group A opponents Iraq on March 29 at the Rashid Stadium in Dubai.
