Ukraine solidarity: AC Milan launch replica Shevchenko shirt to raise relief funds

March 11 – Leagues and clubs across Europe have been showing their support for Ukraine following the invasion by Russia. AC Milan have gone a step further and are raising money via a special replica jersey.

The shirt, launched with the support of Andriy Shevchenko, is inspired by the one he wore in the 2002/03 Champions League Final in Manchester.

Emblazoned with the colours of the Ukrainian flag on the shoulders and chest, the front of the short carries the message ‘AC Milan for Peace’.

The jersey is available for pre-order on the official AC Milan online store for €50. All proceeds from the sale of this special jersey will be donated to the Italian Red Cross for their project in Ukraine.

The fundraising campaign, which is open to everyone, was kicked off by Fondazione Milan with an initial donation to provide emergency kits, medicines and first aid materials to those affected by the war.

AC Milan Academy will also support Fondazione Milan with the project ‘Ukraine emergency Special Camp’ for children arriving from the war-torn territories. The Camp will be hosted this summer in various Italian locations of the Milan Junior Camp. The fundraising initiatives will support Fondazione Milan’s efforts to welcome as many children as possible.

The club’s partners, including Banco BPM, La Molisana, Lete and Segafredo, as well as club employees and members, have activated a relief and support programme for Ukrainian refugeess who will be able to collect basic necessities on dedicated days at Casa Milan, Milanello and the Vismara Sports Centre.
