June 29 – FIFA have announced that remaining tickets for the Qatar 2022 World Cup will go on sale July 5 on a first-come, first-served basis.
The sales window will open at 11am CET and FIFA said it is expecting a high demand and that an online queue management system will apply. Fans will have to pay for their tickets once selected and will not be able to reserve tickets.
FIFA said that individual match tickets will be available across all four price categories – category 4 tickets reserved for Qatar residents. Up to six tickets can be bought per match and a maximum of 60 across the entire tournament. Fans will have to pay for their tickets on
“There is also the opportunity to attend more than one group game on the same day at the beginning of the tournament,” said FIFA, who also said that more than 1.8 million tickets have been sold to date.
Sustainability invite
As part of it’s the tournament’s sustainability efforts FIFA is inviting fans to raise a ‘Green Card for the Planet’ to highlight environmental protection. Fans are being asked to share a video message about an action they will undertake to protect the environment while fans who have had their tickets confirmed are being invited via email to pledge to reduce their own carbon emissions and get the chance to win a voucher for a Qatar souvenir.
