July 6 – With the final tickets on sale for the Qatar 2022 World Cup, FIFA and local organisers have hosted the 32 qualified teams in Doha for a ‘Team Workshop’.
The workshop was designed to familiarise teams with how the World Cup will be run in the country and included final instructions, support and dialogue with the participating nations.
They also had the opportunity to visit some of the stadiums and Team Base Camps across Qatar.
FIFA President Gianni Infantino and Nasser Al-Khater, the CEO of FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022, addressed the nations at the opening session.
There are now less than five months until the start of the World Cup, the first to be held in the winter months. FIFA has had an operational presence in Qatar for more than a year, preparing the World Cup logisitics with local organisers.
This session was a final look for the competing nations before they return for the competition proper which kicks off on November 21. The final will be played December 18.
