FC Dallas in hunt for new shirt sponsor as post-covid rethink forces MTX out 5 years early

July 21 – MLS side FC Dallas, who play in Frisco, are looking for a new shirt sponsor following the cancellation of a seven-year deal with MTX, a local technology transformation company.

Signed in February 2021 and starting in July of that season, MTX was on the front of the team’s first team shirts as well as all academy and youth jerseys from July 2021. The sponsorship included marketing and community impact initiatives.

MTX will stay on the front of FC Dallas shirts until the end of the current season.

FC Dallas said the MTX sponsorship was ending but that MTX had not defaulted on any sponsorship payments. The club said it was in discussions regarding a new sponsor to take the short front position.

MTX said it had restructed following a review of its post-pandemic strategy. MTX took over as the club’s short sponsor after Plano-based dietary supplement company AdvoCare, was sued by the Federal Trade Commission for operating a pyramid scheme.

On signing the sponsorship in 2021 FC Dallas President Dan Hunt said: “When we considered our front-of-jersey opportunity, it was important we align with a company that shared a dedication to making a difference in our community and a passion for soccer… this partnership is about so much more than just a sponsorship. It truly is about developing the sport, identifying Homegrown talent through MTX’s MaverickQuantum Artificial Intelligence Platform and collaborating with them on community enrichment opportunities throughout Dallas/Fort Worth.”
