Impact Scores highlight value buys in the Winter transfer market

January 13 – The winter transfer market has still to ignite with big money deals but a new report by the CIES Football Observatory ranks players by their ‘Impact Scores’, and perhaps pointers to where the best value lies in the transfer market.

The CIES calculates an Impact Score by taking into account the sporting level of matches played during the last year, minutes played in official games, as well as playing performance data provided by InStat.

French centreback Evan N’Dicka (Eintracht Frankfurt) tops the impact score ranking of players under 23, the Spaniard Marco Asensio (Real Madrid) for those aged between 24 and 26, and Adrien Rabiot (Juventus) for players between 27 and 30 years of age.

The CIES says these players “represent excellent opportunities for clubs wanting to get ahead of the competition.”

Leicester’s Youri Tielemans (pictured) has the transfer value of players ranked (€30.8million), ahead of Milan Skriniar (Inter, €30.3 million), Marco Asensio (Real Madrid, €21.9 million), Youssoufa Moukoko (Borussia Dortmund, €20.3 million) and Adrien Rabiot (Juventus, €19.5 million).
