Castore expand into Netherlands with Feyenoord deal

January 29 – UK sportswear brand Castore has entered the Dutch market with a six-year kit deal with Feyenoord, also becoming the club’s retail partner.

Worth a reported €50 million over the term, the agreement times with the decision by Castore to move its the headquarters of its European operations and distribution to Rotterdam.

Castore replaces Adidas who had been Feyenoord’s kit partner since 2014, with the deal starting for the 2023/24 season. Feyenoord currently lead the Eredevisie by two points after 19 games.

Pascal Lafitte, Director of Partnerships at Castore, said: “This is a significant step for Castore, partnering with a club with such a history and entering the Dutch market for the first time. Our founders’ ambition was to get world-class athletes to wear our products, and it’s exciting that Feyenoord recognises the importance of marginal gains brought by our kits and trust us to help them achieve their ambitions.”

Castore kit will be worn by Feyenoord’s first team, Women’s team and the club’s youth academy teams.

Joris van Dijk, Chief Commercial Officer, at Feyenoord Rotterdam, said: “Castore profiles itself as a challenger in the international sportswear market… Castore is building an impressive international production and distribution network. Thanks to this network, Feyenoord’s merchandise lines will become much more accessible to our supporters nationally and internationally from next season. Unique products are also developed exclusively for Feyenoord within the collaboration.”

Castore has been building its club portfolio in football which now includes Newcastle United, Aston Villa, Rangers FC, and Sevilla.
