February 6 – Johann Gartner (pictured) has taken over on an interim basis as head of the Austrian FA following the resignation of Gerhard Milletich.
The 71-year-old is currently one of the OFB vice-presidents and was appointed to the temporary role on Friday.
He will stay in the post until a new president is elected at an Extraordinary General Meeting in May or June.
Milletich, who only took over in October 2021, was recently criticised for using his role as the country’s top football official to attract advertisers for his publishing house. He said he was stepping down “due to the massive negative media campaign and the internal attacks against me.”
