OM signs up Mojabet African gaming sponsor in 6-year deal

February 27 – Olympique de Marseille has unveiled online sports bookmaker Mojabet as the club’s official African betting partner in a six-year deal running to 2028.

To launch the partnership Mojabet has debuted a competition named OM8 where users must predict eight correct questions each week on the outcome of the upcoming fixture for a chance to win a cash prize and a range of OM memorabilia. The weekly prediction game starts with OM’s game with PSG.

Mojabet is a leading gaming operator in Africa, whose services extend into financial technology, mobile money and telecommunication value added services. Mojabet’s ambition is to expand its online offerings for African sports fans which it says will be via “fan-friendly engagement within a responsible gaming culture”.

Mojabet’s brand will appear on African broadcasts via Digital Overlay technology that geo-locates ads displayed on the club’s LED screens.

“Olympique de Marseille is a world-renowned club that has deep roots within the African football landscape and communities” said MOJA Group CEO Paris Anatolitis.

“Mojabet has established a dominant position across the continent but also has ambitious growth plans. OM is the perfect strategic partner for us to help us nurture even stronger fan connections through unique live experiences, and complement our highly engaging online betting opportunities. Our OM8 competition offers a glimpse of the engaging initiatives we’ll be running to give something back to our customers.”

No value was given for the deal.

Pedro Iriondo, Strategy & Development General Manager, Olympique de Marseille: “We look forward to developing our cooperation with Mojabet with top-class content. This partnership demonstrates our commitment to continuing the club’s history with the African continent.”
