CityPark, St Louis, Missouri
This 22,423-seat soccer-specific stadium was only completed in November 2022.
It is the home of St Louis City SC that made its MLS debut in March 2023, beating Charlotte FC 3-1.
The stadium is located in the Downtown West district and next to Union Station.
The stadium has a grass pitch 12m below street level, surrounded by two tiers of seating totaling 22,423 seats – an additional 2,500 seats can be added. Every seat is within 120 feet of the pitch, the closest of any stadium in the MLS.
The stadium is topped with a clear plastic awning to keep out weather while keeping in crowd noise and avoiding disrupting shadows on the pitch.
The stadium has a standing area for 3,000 and a drum platform for drum corps during matches. The area has its own dedicated supporters bar.
CityPark hosted its first international friendly in April between the US women and Ireland.
It is hosting the US men’s team for the first time and its first Concacaf Gold Cup hosting on June 28.
On September 9 it will host a US men’s friendly against Uzbekistan.
