June 14 – Turkish Football Federation (TFF) and McDonald’s have renewed their cooperation until 2026. The first sponsorship contract between the two sides was signed in 2020 and has been renewed for another four years.
McDonald’s is the main sponsor Turkey’s the women’s and men’s national teams as well as the country’s esports teams.
At the signing of the new contract, TFF president Mehmet Büyükekşi emphasised that under his leadership, the local football federation has re-signed key sponsorship contracts and managed to attract new strategic partners.
“Our sponsors are not only our business partners, but also our companions that we walk together with. Since the day we took office as TFF, we have increased our sponsorship revenues by 62%. While renewing contracts with 11 of our sponsors, we signed sponsorship agreements with new companies.” he said.
“As a result of our first collaboration in 2020, McDonald’s became the official sponsor of our Women’s and Men’s Football National Teams with the title of Taste Sponsor of Turkish Football National Teams. In the first period of our cooperation, McDonald’s believed in the development of National Women’s football. And it has provided great support to our federation with its investments. It pioneered the broadcasting of the matches of the A National Women’s Football Team live on Sportstv. McDonald’s also started the ‘Red-White women’ movement of Turkey. With the idea of creating equal opportunities for women in every field, they launched a campaign that made a big impact on the way they started with the slogan ‘believe you can do it’,” Büyükekşi added.
McDonald’s Turkey CEO Mwaffak Kanjee said: “Today, we are happy to extend our sponsorship agreement for another 4 years. As we have done so far, we will continue to support both our men’s and women’s National Teams as well as our eNational Team for the next 4 years. We will continue to contribute to the development of women’s football. I wish our national teams sponsorship and cooperation to be beneficial.”
