ERGO signs on for EURO 2024 as a national partner

June 15 – UEFA has announced insurance giant ERGO as the second of its official national partners for Euro 2024.

Last week UEFA unveiled rail network Deutsche Bahn as the first national partner of Euro 2024 with the promise of eco-friendly travel by train, at reduced prices, to the ten tournament venues in Germany.

ERGO becomes the exclusive ‘Presenting Partner’ of the volunteer programme, which, for the first time, is being organised by UEFA in conjunction with the 10 host cities. It is anticipated that there will be a record number of 16,000 volunteers at Euro 2024 contributing in more than 25 different competence areas.

Volunteer application opened yesterday, a year before the start of the tournament that will run  from 14 June to 14 July 2024.

UEFA marketing director, Guy-Laurent Epstein said: “ERGO is a long-time supporter and partner of football in Germany, which makes them a perfect fit to become a partner of UEFA EURO 2024.”

It was a point emphasised by Dr Lena Lindemann, member of the board and labour director of ERGO Group, which is headquartered in Germany.

“We will be using our many years of experience in sport sponsorship to help present Germany as top-tier hosts to our many international guests, and contribute to the success of this special event. As enshrined in the UEFA EURO 2024 motto of ‘United by Football – In the heart of Europe’, we believe in the binding power of football,” said Lindemann.

UEFA said that nine global sponsorships have been agreed, six of which have been announced. These sponsorships are either as part of the full UEFA National Team Football (UNTF) programme or event-only sponsorships for EURO 2024. Five national partners have been agreed with two announced so far.

No value was given for the deal. UEFA said that its sponsorship sales for 2024 are now complete.
