June 15 – With FIFA having finally managed to nail down a pan-European broadcast agreement with the EBU for the Women’s World Cup that starts next month, UEFA has gone to market with its Women’s EURO 2025 media rights across 45 European territories.
The 14th edition of the Women’s Euros will be staged in Switzerland in the summer of 2025. Switzerland qualifies as host with the 15 remaining nations coming through UEFA’s new qualifying process.
Unlike FIFA, UEFA has gone to market with its rights two years before the tournament. For FIFA to get the money it wanted for its World Cup meant eating into budgets that had already been committed, and schedules that had already been planned. UEFA has given more time and planning space to media, though the deadline for bids is still July 11.
Territories being tendered are: Albania, Armenia, Austria, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Belgium, Bosnia & Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Czechia, Denmark (including the Faroe Islands and Greenland), Estonia, Finland, Georgia, Germany, Gibraltar, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Israel, Kazakhstan, Kosovo, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxemburg, Malta, Moldova, Montenegro, Netherlands, Republic of North Macedonia, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Republic of Ireland, Romania, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Sweden, Switzerland, Türkiye, the United Kingdom of Great Britain & Northern Ireland and Ukraine.
