Mediapro and IMG renew Concacaf media rights deal for outside the Americas

June 17 – Concacaf have renewed their deal with Mediapro and IMG for international broadcast sales representation for their national team tournaments and their rebranded Champions League, from 2024 to be called the Champions Cup.

The media rights are for all territories outside the Americas can cover the upcoming 2023 Concacaf Gold Cup (the preliminary qualifying round completes June 20 with the group stage starting June 24), the inaugural 2024 Concacaf W Gold Cup (12 teams with four guest nations from South America), Concacaf Champions Cup, Concacaf Caribbean Cup and the newly created Concacaf Central American Cup.

Last week in Las Vegas, after the semi-finals of the Gold Cup, Concacaf unveiled their new partnership to potential commercial partners at an event titled ‘FIFA and Concacaf Upfront’. The initiative will see cooperation on the promotion and marketing all major upcoming official Concacaf national team competitions together with the FIFA World Cup 2026.

In their press release announcing the media rights renewal Mediapro said “the companies will also work together with Concacaf to devise new strategies aimed at increasing the visibility of the competitions worldwide.”

Concacaf Chief Commercial Officer, Heidi Pellerano added “This collaboration marks a new era of growth and global visibility for Concacaf, enabling us to showcase the unparalleled passion and excellence of football in our region to audiences worldwide. Together we will create captivating experiences, delivering dynamic content and unlocking exciting opportunities for our fans, partners and stakeholders.”
The renewal comes at a time when Concacaf has revisioned its major women’s and men’s club competitions, as well as expanded its men’s Nations League.
