July 8 – Spain’s national airline Iberia, will be an official sponsor of LaLiga from the start of the 2023/24 season in a deal that focusses on Latin America.
The multi-year agreement will see activation focused around events and digital content for Latin American football fans.
LaLiga said the collaboration will “bring the best of entertainment, culture, and fun to thousands of fans in Latin America”.
Iberia flys to 18 destinations in 16 countries in Latin American and is looking to strengthen its leadership in those markets with its connectivity to Europe. LaLiga’s core broadcast strength outside of its national boundaries is into Spanish speaking markets.
Javier Tebas (pictured left), president of LALIGA, mentioned: “We are delighted to collaborate with such a solid company as Iberiawhich shares the same values as LAL/GA. We both have the goal to keep growing in Latin America, mostly due to the cultural proximity that unites us. Through soccer and aviation, we will be able to transmit experiences and emotions to all our fans to enjoy the best of LAL/GA.”
No value was given for the deal.
