August 7 – Kylian Mbappe is reported to have been barred from training with Paris St Germain’s first team as his contract dispute with the club continues.
Despite the return of the squad from a pre-season tour of Japan and South Korea, the 24-year-old French superstar will continue to train with the group of players who are not seen as part of the club’s plans this season.
Mbappe was put up for sale by PSG in July and also left out of the club’s tour squad, which led to him training separately from his team-mates.
Out of contract next summer, he is reported to have agreed a free transfer deal with Real Madrid next summer rather than sign a new PSG deal.
PSG had given Saudi Arabia’s Al-Hilal permission to speak to the player after they made a world record bid last month but Mbappé reportedly refused even to meet with delegates from the Saudi club who had flown to Paris.
