August 9 – Serie A has issued a five-season tender for betting streaming and data rights starting with the 2024/25 season and running through to the end of the 2028/2029 season.
The rights being tendered cover the Serie A Championship, Coppa Italia Frecciarossa, and EA Sports Supercup, with a deadline for proposals of August 31.
Serie A has split the rights into five different domestic and international packages, with bidders also able to bid for combined packages. Serie A indicated that the rights will likely be split between multiple partners.
Betting sponsorship of football has been banned in Italy but the data and streaming rights on betting platforms still have value for Serie A and its clubs as they battle to make up the loss of income from bookmakers.
The packages have been split as follows:
Package A – International Sports Betting Package: streaming, match data and coach data for betting exploitation in all countries and territories in the world with the exception of the Italian territory.
Package B – Sports Betting Package Italy: match data and coach data for betting exploitation in the Italian territory.
Package C – Media Data Package: match data and coach data for editorial exploitation in all countries and territories in the world.
Package D – Sports Betting Tracking Data Package: tracking data for betting exploitation in all countries and territories in the world.
Package E – Media Tracking Data Package: tracking data for editorial exploitation in all countries and territories in the world.
Package F(a) – Sports Betting Package: combination of Packages A and B.
Package F(b) – Sports Betting Package Plus: combination of Packages A, B and D.
Package F(c) – Media Data Package Plus: combination of Packages C and E.
Serie A has published the General Terms and Conditions of the License Agreement on its website.
