Turkey’s Samsunspor signs up for French lessons with Toulouse co-operation

August 31 – Turkey’s Samsunspor and France’s Toulouse FC have signed a three-year cooperation agreement that will see both clubs work together on a number of development projects including the sharing of young players and knowledge in terms of strategic, technical and management.

Toulouse will share its knowledge and experience in areas such as training methodology, infrastructure development, selection and recruitment of young talents with Samsunspor. The French club will also play an active role in the development of Samsunspor Football Academy.

“As Samsunspor, our aim is to reach the level of European clubs. We want to be a club that is above the Turkish standards, focused on permanent and sustainable success. We believe that the first step of this starts with the academy. Samsunspor Football Academy will benefit greatly with the 3-year agreement with Toulouse FC,” said Yuksel Yildirim, president of Samsunspor.

“By training our technical team and club managers in Samsun, we will bring our club to an academy at European standards in three years. We will apply new training methods. We will increase the health, nutritional information, mental levels and fitness levels of the football players. Every month, the teams will visit each other from Toulouse to Samsun and from Samsunspor to Toulouse and work together.”

The two clubs will worl jointly on scouting scout and match analysis with players from Turkey being given the opportunity to experience Toulouse infrastructure to develop, learn foreign languages and adapt to foreign cultures.

Damien Comolli, football director of Toulouse FC said: “As two assertive clubs, we are focused on constantly improving the performances of our youth and our players in our A team. Our cooperation is also a product of this vision. Our team, led by Remy Loret and Selinay Gürgenç, will work hard to realize this cooperation in the most efficient and productive way.
