AC Milan and Fanblock combine to offer virtual pitch ownership to fans

October 11 – AC Milan and Fanblock have agreed a first-of-its-kind partnership that will enable the Rossoneri to purchase ‘Fanblocks’ representing sections of AC Milan’s virtual pitch.

Owners of selected Fanblocks will earn points for real-time match events happening on their designated area of the pitch, with the company branding it as a unique way to follow the team.

Milan fans will virtually own parts of the club’s world-famous San Siro pitch, as well as engage with the team on matchdays and beyond using Fanblock’s virtual platform.

Supporters are also rewarded for participating on the platform, inviting friends, and competing with other AC Milan fans to improve their fan ranking. This partnership aims to offer an exciting alternative for fans worldwide to connect with their club, even if they can’t watch matches in the San Siro Stadium.

The club said the all-new Fanblock experience aims to champion inclusion and give “500 million AC Milan fans across the globe a unique opportunity to connect with their club, regardless of their proximity to the San Siro”.

Maikel Oettle, commercial director of AC Milan, said: “We are thrilled to announce this new partnership with Fanblock. As a club, we are always eager to explore new avenues to connect with our global fanbase, and Fanblock is a powerful way to strengthen that bond. Together, we are creating a new exciting way for fan interaction and a new experience for our fans worldwide.”

Fanblock founder and CEO Johan Greeff explains: “Fanblock aims to create interactive fan experiences that bring fans closer to their teams and action on the pitch. We are extremely proud to launch Fanblock with AC Milan. A Club with an illustrious history dating back to 1899 and one of the most successful clubs in the world, which enjoy an incredible global fanbase.”

League leaders AC Milan return to Serie A action against third-place Juventus after a week of international fixtures, in a clash that could decide who lifts the Scudetto come June.
