October 23 – Leicester City Women have signed an agreement with Sekonda that will see the watchmakers become back-of-shirt sponsors for the WSL club in a one-year deal.
The Sekonda branding debuted during a top-of-the-table clash against Manchester City last weekend.
Harj Hir, head of partnerships at Leicester City, said: “We’re really pleased to partner with Sekonda as this represents another impressive step forward for LCFC Women, who are at an exciting stage in their journey.
“The team have started the season magnificently, and we look forward to working with Sekonda during the 2023/24 WSL campaign.”
No value was given for the deal.
Alison Forrestal, chief executive at Sekonda, said: “We’re thrilled to be partnering Sekonda with LCFC Women and look forward to collaborating with this incredible team over the coming years.
“Supporting the community in which we operate is important to us and we are delighted to become part of the Leicester City family.”
Before the loss to league leaders Manchester City, the Foxes were second in the WSL. However, a disappointing defeat, marked by an early goal from Chloe Kelly, has dropped them to fifth place after four games.
They will be looking to bounce back with a win away to Liverpool on November 4.
